Creating Accounts and Xero Contacts in SFDC- After the initial setup has been completed, any new Client or Supplier account you are working with has to be created in either Xero or Salesforce (Xrero Contact). If you create the corresponding account in Xero directly it will sync back to SFDC as Xero Contact and will be linked to the SFDC account as well. If you create a Xero Contact directly in Salesforce for the new Account you will have to manually link the Account and Contact together and then it will sync to Xero. Invoices can also be created in Sales force as explained below. Payments and Credit notes can only be created in Xero.

Working with the Xero Invoice Detail Page:

You can create Invoices in SFDC from multiple options, but bear in mind that when you trigger a invoice creation it triggers a API which creates the corresponding record in Xero first and then that record is pushed back to Salesforce. So when you finish up entering the details for a invoice against any record in SFDC, yo wont see it immediately in Salesforce under that record, rather it will take a few seconds for all of the process to happen. Yo can always view the corresponding Invoice record directly in Xero form the link on the Invoice Detail page under the Xero Link field on Invoice (Shown below)

Creating Invoices in Salesforce is fairly simple there are multiple ways to do the same

  • From the Xero Invoice Tab- under All Invoices List View Or any other View except Recently Viewed List view, there re two separate button New Bill and New Sales Invoices shown below:

When You click on New Sales invoice it brings up a pop up window which is exactly same as the Invoice screen in Xero as is shown below. This is where you can create a Sales Invoice of the type ACCREC for your customers.

NOTE: Please note that Invoices are not directly created in Salesforce, the Invoices you create through the screen above are first pushed to Xero and from Xero they come back into Salesforce which is when a Salesforce record for these Invoices is created

The New Bill button from the All Invoice List View pops up the button screen below and is exactly same as is in Xero , it creates ACCPAY Invoice record and corresponds to the Supplier Invoices

  • From The Contact Details Page- On Any Contact detail Page there is a related List of all the Invoices for that Contact and when you hover on the Related List column from the drop down button you will get two buttons ‘New Sales Invoices' and ‘New Bill’. Click n these buttons to create one of them. below is the screenshot of the same

  • From the Related lists on the Account detail page. You can add Invoices and Bills related list to the Account detail page and the from the New button on the respective related lists create the Invoices or bills for the account(Shown below)
